Leak-sensing cable helps protect Cabinet
War Rooms
Over
2.3 km of TT1000 water sensing cable provides vital
protection for irreplaceable artefacts and exhibits for
the Cabinet War Rooms Museum in London. The Tyco Thermal
Controls’ TraceTek leak-detection system was installed
as part of a major refurbishment project at the Treasury
building in Parliament Square, which is above the basement-level
Cabinet War Rooms.
TraceTek’s
TTDM-PLUS panel and TTSIM slave units have been installed
at various locations
around the building
to monitor the sensing cable. The TTDM-PLUS contains
the most up-to-date circuit technology and can provide
the precise distance and location of any leak. The
TTDM-PLUS and TTSIM units are also linked into the
building management
system by individual volt-free contacts provided by
the latest TT-NRM unit.
The
TraceTek TT-NRM Network Relay Module provides the
capability to add up to 320 individual alarm relays
to a TraceTek TTDM-PLUS /TTSIM leak detection network.
The
TT-NRM communicates with the TTDM-PLUS via the same
RS-485 network used for TTSIMs. The TT-NRM can be
installed in a wide variety of configurations, allowing
numerous
leak detection system layout possibilities.
The
versatility of this design approach will enable the
client to add
additional areas and SIM’s to the
network in the phased expansions planned for the
system.
