TraceTek gains FM Global approval for the new FM-7745 standard which deals specifically with indoor fuel leak detection
We are excited to announce that TraceTek has received a very important approval from FM Global. The new FM-7745 standard deals specifically with indoor fuel leak detection. TraceTek now has the only fuel leak detection system that has been approved by FM to meet their new standard with its TT5000, TT-FFS, and connecting accessories.
- Indoor Generators - TraceTek offers several design solutions to meet FM's requirements around generators.
- Indoor Day Tanks - Indoor fuel storage creates unique risks that TraceTek can minimize.
- Indoor Piping - More specifically, there are FM concerns in sections that involve threaded joints instead of welded joints. TraceTek has the solution to satisfy your concerns.
- There are several other areas of concern within this FM approval such as boilers, pumps, valves, etc.

TraceTek are the only supplier of leak detection solutions (so far) to have received approval by FM for diesel leak detection to new standard FM7745.
FM Global insurers have been concerned with the increased risk of a fire getting out of control in buildings where diesel fuel is present, particularly if it has leaked onto the floor and the new standard from FM Approvals is designed to minimize that risk.
Products approved include: fast fuel sensor (TT-FFS), cable fuel sensor (TT5000), alarm and locating module (TTDM-128), sensor interface modules (TTSIM-1A and TTSIM-2), plus accessories.
Approval is based upon satisfactory evaluation of the product and the manufacturer. The TraceTek products were examined and tested to evaluate the suitability, performance, durability and reliability of the product. The manufacturing facilities were also examined and quality control procedures audited to evaluate the ability to consistently produce the product.
In order to meet the required standard, detectors must respond to the defined diesel exposure in less than 30 seconds, to establish baseline sensitivity.
