Leak Detection and Locating Systems

Above Ground Storage Tanks

Above ground storage tanks hold a variety of dangerous fluids that may pose minor to very serious threats to the environment and the public. Leaks and spills into the ground and water can cause major contamination problems and have harmful impacts on human health and safety.

TraceTek Leak Detection Systems can monitor single steel-floor storage tanks for fuel leaks in Hazardous Areas at a low install and commission cost, with no system integration requirements. A simple visual leak indicator module begins to flash when the sensing cable detects a small developing leak.

TraceTek TT5000 Sensing Cable installed inside rows of slotted PVC conduit below a storage tank can detect a small fuel leak and provide a warning alert signal of a tank containment failure. Traces of any fuel leakage are drawn into the conduit by capillary action and contact the sensing cable for detection of the leak.
